Mallika Sherawat KLPD with Vivek Oberoi

Mumbai, Thursday 15th of December 2011 (BSNS) Buzz has it that sultry actress Mallika Sherawat has been roped opposite actor Vivek Oberoi in Amit Chandrra and Sanjay Khanduris Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli.

It seems like the actress has finally decided to leave her Hollywood career and settle for Bollywood as she has now been signed for a full-fledged role in the film.

Confirming about Mallika doing KLPD, the producer, Amit, said, We called her and pitched the film. After the initial approval, we discussed the script with her via video calls. We are happy to have her on board.

KLPD is a comeback film for Mallika and the actress is expected to come back to Mumbai to start shooting for the film from the end of this month.

Mallika to essay a Haryanvi girl
Mallika who had earlier turned down a role in ' Jism 2 ' and another one from YRF Films gave a nod for KLPD since she has more prominence and a lot of performance scope in this film.

In KLPD, the actress will be seen essaying the role of a Haryanvi girl who is on an adventurous journey where she meets a Delhi boy, portrayed by Vivek Oberoi.

Its reported that director Sanjay Khanduri and Amit felt that the actress would be apt to essay a Haryanvi girl since she belongs to that setting.

Talking about Mallilkas character in KLPD, Amit said, Mallika is the perfect choice because she comes from the Haryanvi-Punjabi milieu. So, she can easily carry off the typical attitude and the body language of a North Indian girl, besides the natural grasp over the lingo.

Incidentally, there had been several rumours that ' Kismat, Love, Paisa, Dilli ' is a sequel to ' Ek Chalis Ki Last Local ' (ECKLL). However, the producer clarified that KLPD is not a sequel to the earlier film.

The only similarity with GCKLL is that KLPD is also a story of one night and how it affects the lives of its protagonists. But thats where the similarity ends, Amit said.

Salman Khan did not back me says Mahek Chachal

Mumbai, Thursday 15th of December 2011 (BSNS)Mahek Chahal, the latest inmate to be evicted from the Bigg Boss house last Saturday, has rubbished allegations that Salman was protecting her and helping her get to the finals.

Not too long ago, Bollywood villain Shakti Kapoor and Pooja Bedi had slammed Salman Khan for backing Mahek Chahal, alleging that he was giving her special treatment.

Talking to a tabloid, Mehak clarified, Its very unfair to say that I was being favoured, not only for me but also for Salman. If I was his favourite, I would have been in the finals and not have been evicted from the show.

Mehaks stint inside Big Boss
Though, Mehak did not win the show, she enjoyed her stay in the house immensely. During her 10 weeks stay she survived six nominations.

Mehak never missed a chance to dance, exercise and practice yoga inside the Bigg Boss house.

Mehak disclosed, "The two months that I have spent in the house have been the most important months of my life. It has been an experience of a lifetime. I have realised the importance of things that we usually take for granted."

"I have realised the importance of relationships. Fights and arguments are an inevitable part of life, but one should not stretch it and forgive each other as soon as possible. Be happy and move on, " she added.

Take on other contestants
Speaking about the other contestants, Mehak confessed Sky (Akashdeep Saigal) is a very selfish person who gets into verbal spats with everybody.

She finds Amar and Shonali most untrustworthy people in the Bigg Boss.

She is now rooting for Siddharth to win the show.

I want people to open their eyes and see the potential that Siddharth Bharadwaj has. He is a young blood and may not have the experience like the other inmates. But he has all the qualities of a winner. I wish Siddharth wins, she said.

This is a very natural progression of good quality which I can give to all around the world the sense of fragrance. And being an actor it helps me to get that opportunity. We worked hard on it for two years," Arjun said. The model-turned-actor-turned-producer said he would like to gift the perfume to two stars so that they can smell alike. "Among female actors, I would gift this perfume to Deepika and among males I might give it to Ranbir Kapoor so that they both smell a bit alike," he added.

Arjun has been an integral part in the development of his nouveau brand from the initial stage. "It's not an easy business. I am involved in only the creative side. At the end of the day I can make a movie, I can make a good dish, but people should like it because they are the judge. If they like it, great and if they dislike it then I will go back and smell some coffee and bring some better cologne," said the 39-year-old. Arjun, a doting father, astute businessman and a loving husband who has been extremely busy with his projects these days, doesn't mind the hectic lifestyle. "When you get the opportunity, you must work. There were times when I was sitting at home with no work. You must run against time and manage it. Most importantly, I have to thank my team of 'Alive' that has managed with no wastage of time," he said.

The superhero has been chosen as the brand ambassador for a leading toy company

What We Loved: Hard-hitting, entertaining and a message movie without falling in the trap of being a message movie considering that it tackled the real-life case of the Jessica Lal murder.
Standout Star: Rani Mukherjee rocked, but she was overshadowed just a tad by Vidya Balan's portrayal of Jessica's sister Sabrina
Standout Scene: A preoccupied Sabrina walking down the street, so lost in her thoughts that she doesn't see an elephant
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif
What We Loved: The way Imran (Farhan) take cares of the expensive handbag makes us laugh every time we think about it. Picturesque Spain and Abhay Deol rock throughout the movie. We did think Hrithik Roshan's acting was a bit mechanical; also, is it just us or did he use too much bronzer?
Standout Star: Farhan Akhtar - we can't imagine anyone else in the role of Imran. The way Farhan cracks jokes to hide his emotions and his awesome poetry made the character amazingly real.
Standout Scene: It has to be when Imran (Farhan) finally gets to meets his dad (Naseeruddin Shah). As always Naseeruddin Shah sets the benchmark.
Cast: Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapoor and Poorna Jagannath
What We Loved: The mad situations, the nutty humour, the crazy songs and the perfect-for-the part actors (Vijay Raaz as the matter-of-fact gangster rocked)
Standout Star: Vir Das, he makes you laugh and cry all at the same time at his character's track
Standout Scene: The scene where the trio of friends attempt a robbery - howlarious!
Cast: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Mahesh Manjrekar
What We Loved: Surprise, surprise! 'Bodyguard' didn't have crass, double-meaning jokes like most movies of the genre. Instead, this simple love story seasoned with action was complete paisa-vasool for Sallu fans.
Standout Star: Obviously Salman Khan! Our Topless Tornado doesn't disappoint! He didn't go over-the-top in this movie and looked oh-so sexy in his bodyguard uniform. Of course, no movie is complete without him going shirtless but who's complaining!
Standout Scene: It's definitely the one where Lucky Singh (Salman) practices his love confession with Divya (Kareena) until his 'real' love comes along. We got a bit senti during that scene, Salman looked sooo childlike and absolutely convincing!
Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Armaan Verma
What We Loved: It's a benchmark for a sci-fi flick! Indian cinema has never seen such a visual spectacle even if it did lack on an overall 'wow' quality because of the script.
Standout Star: The kid, Armaan Verma - he gave a super-confident performance in the movie!
Standout Scene: Rajnikant's cameo - he's a superstar for all seasons!
Cast: Kalki Koechlin, Rajeev Khandewal, Shiv Pandit, Kirti Kulhari, Gulshan Devia and Neil Bhoopalam
What We Loved: The movie takes you for a rollercoaster ride, it's thrilling and at the same time you fear what's going to happen next.
Standout Star: Rajeev Khandewal - he is definitely an actor to watch out for.
Standout Scene: The scene where one of the youngsters cooped in a rundown house plays tennis and the camera moves with the tennis ball. Intense!
Cast: Tushaar Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Pitobash, Sundeep Kishan, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Radhika Apte and Preeti Desai
What We Loved: A great script and a sincere effort put in by the whole cast.
Standout Star: None. The film rests on the shoulders of the full cast, without any of them it wouldn't have been able achieve what it has.
Standout Scene: The funniest scene we came across was about an arms dealer being interrupted by a phone call
Cast: Atif Aslam, Iman Ali, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Shafqat Cheema, Manzar Sehbai, Zaib Rehman and Amr Kashmiri
What We Loved: The hard-hitting theme of the movie, dealing with the abuse of women, is chilling to core and was portrayed so realistically.
Standout Star: It's a tie between Humaima Malick and Manzar Sehbai. You can't imagine anyone else in the characters of Zainab and Hakeem Sahib.
Standout Scene: When Zainab tells her sisters to live a normal life - touching and heart-breaking at the same time.
Cast: Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tushaar Kapoor
What We Loved: Just the sheer boldness of the subject - it takes guts to conceptualise and execute a movie on a complex character who lived life so completely her way. Take a bow, producer Ekta Kapoor.
Standout Star: Vidya Balan, for her gut-wrenchingly honest portrayal of Reshma
Standout Scene: The monologue that seems to drain Vidya's character and get everybody in the audience thinking
Cast: R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut
What We Loved: A love story that's also a family entertainer - hard to find these days.
Standout Star: R Madhavan, with his family-packs abs and sincerity, is drool worthy.
Standout Scene: The film has some wonderful moments but the best one was when Manu confides to his best friend that Tanu doesn't want to marry him.

Apparently Rakesh Roshan is taking it slow because of Hrithik's health issues

It's been a tough few months for Hrithik 'superhero' Roshan. A knee injury, a hand injury and the worst of all, his slip disc has been giving the actor sleepless nights.

However even though he has been training rigorously for the Krrish sequel, he has been apparently advised to take it slow before he starts shooting hardcore action sequences. Result? The film that has already seen too many changes in cast and schedule may be pushed further.

Says a source, "Hrithik cannot really sit or stand at one place for too long even at this point. Also, he has been training regularly, so there is enough pressure on the body." No wonder both his trainers are attached to his hip these days, hovering around him day and night.

Adds the source, "His family members, especially wife Sussanne is worried about his health. So they insist that his trainers stay with him, in case he encounters a problem."

The actor was spotted with the trainers even at photographer Dabboo Ratnani's party and apparently they were very much part of his birthday celebrations too.

"He has been shooting nights for the film, but currently Hrithik is busy with the promotions of Agneepath. So that is taking up a lot of time as well. So it will be a while before they start shooting the real superhero sequences."

Hrithik, who was seen interacting with the media recently, however seemed ready to get into the groove. "I have encountered many health issues in the recent past, but hopefully now things are getting better.

Krrish became such a rage, so we don't want to give the audience anything less." Whoever said getting leaner and meaner was always a good thing!

For someone who had a star-studded debut, Sonakshi Sinha has been out of action for a while. But this Dabangg girl is all set to flood the latter half of this year with four releases.

She laughs, "There is a joke doing the rounds that I have become the female Akshay Kumar for my back-to-back releases."

Sonakshi, who's already had a busy New Year, tells CS about all that she's learnt from the senior actors she's worked with:

Busy me
Guess what, I have been working non-stop since last August. I just had a day off on December 31, so I decided to spend New Year's Eve with my family.

For once, it was a very quiet affair. One thing that I am very happy about is that I have been able to keep my last year's resolution.

Last year I decided to never make a resolution because I usually tend to break it in the first week of the New Year itself.

So thankfully, even this time I haven't made any resolutions that I have to struggle to keep.

The art of learning
Ever since I debuted, things have been going great for me. I have been acting with a variety of senior actors who have taught me much. I feel blessed to be surrounded by such talented people from whom I can learn so much, especially since I never planned to become an actor and I came here knowing nothing.

Karan Johar, who has acquired the movie rights of Amish Tripathi's bestseller "The Immortals of Meluha", says he is yet to finalise the director for the big screen adaptation of the bestseller.

"People been asking about the 'Meluha' book... we are going to lock a director first... then start the screenplay work and then cast LORD SHIVA!" Johar posted on his Twitter page.

"The Immortals of Meluha" is the first in the Shiva trilogy series by Tripathi and it is the story of Shiva, a Tibetan refugee who is taken to Meluha as the king of Meluha believes in the legend that an outsider will be their saviour.
