So when it struck us that we can have a li'l more fun at this muscular man's expense, we refused to budge and not let this golden opportunity slip out of our hands. His dialogues have become an anthem and his style is looked up to by almost every hard-core movie buff. And as we go through some of Sunny paaji's power packed dialogues, we imagine how it would sound if he had blurted them out in English. Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan kiss and make up!

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 09:26 AM PST

The Shahrukh Khan-Shirish Kunder slap incident had become the most talked about subject over tea and twitter. And it's not only because of the King Khan's huge fan following and his support within the industry, but it also because a sizzling Bollywood feud involving a top star does not come by that often. These incidents leave a lot of space for speculation and everyone (whether involved or not) has their own version of the tale. And while everyone expected the situation to go worse, the story has actually taken an unexpected turn, albeit for good. Shahrukh Khan has finally patched up with old friend Farah Khan and her hubby Shirish Kunder. "Some incidents in our life when resolved make relationships stronger than they were before," tweeted Shirish Kunder after the truce. It's strange that Shirish's bitter tweets have suddenly turned mushy and philosophical!

That apart, this patch up could have happened a year ago at the Apsara Awards 2011 when Farah hugged Shahrukh and explained that she chose to work with Akshay Kumar for Tees Maar Khan because she didn't want to be thought of as a director who makes films solely for SRK. But things didn't really go as expected. Hubby Shirish still harboured a grudge with Shahrukh and Farah had to choose to support her husband. And maybe if this public fall out at Sanjay Dutt's party hadn't happened, things would have remained unresolved. But the matter ended on a positive note, mainly because Farah just couldn't take the fact that the fight had become a public spectacle and they had become the butt of all jokes.

"Our issues had become the main topic of entertainment for the media and the public. It had to end and it did," Farah said to a tabloid. Well, it did but not without some drama. When friends and family saw that the warring trio, Farah's brother Sajid Khan decided to intervene. He knew that his sister had been wanting to get back to SRK for a long time. He and Sajid Nadiadwala called up Gauri Khan and asked if they could all sit down and resolve the issue. "Gauri told me that I can bring Farah over any time to her house. She told me that Mannat is Farah's home," Sajid Khan revealed after the meeting. So they marched to Mannat where the teary reunion finally took place.

But we refrain from saying that all's well that ends well because two people – Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan – still seem to be sulking. Dutt is reportedly miffed about all the drama taking away from the success of his movie Agneepath. Sigh! And Salman is not entirely happy about his name being dragged into the big fight. While Shirish said that Sallu bhai had called him to show his support, Salman's spokesperson has completely denied this. It is good to know that Salman has stayed away from it all. So, is the Sallu-SRK truce also around the corner? This happy ending definitely gives us hope.

Why Kareena Kapoor prefers middle-aged Aamir Khan to younger Imran Khan

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 05:54 AM PST

Kareena Kapoor always wanted to work with a younger hero but has been repeatedly paired with aging stars including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan and real life boyfriend Saif Ali Khan. Bebo's wish of working with a young star came true when she was cast opposite Imran Khan in Dharma Production's Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which will hit the theatres during the Valentine week. The vivacious actor is extremely happy to have bagged the role where she romances the Imran and says that the Delhi Belly actor's youthful presence brought freshness to her repertoire.

But when quizzed with a choice between Imran and Aamir Khan, the gorgeous actor gave the vote to her 3 idiots co-star. "I loved working with Imran, but I am biased towards Amir because he gave me 3 Idiots, one of the biggest hits of my career," said Bebo in an interview with a daily. Bebo's film with the perfectionist Khan had netted about Rs 360 crore at the box office, guess the sexy actor just can't get over that mind boggling number. Well, we think the babelicious actor is just playing safe and smart. After all, who'd want to hurt Aamir's starry ego?

Reemma Sen to have a March wedding in Delhi

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 04:08 AM PST

Reemma Sen, last seen in the Telugu film Mugguru is quite thrilled these days as the date of her wedding to Delhi restauranteur Shiv Karan Singh draws closer. The entire wedding ceremony and celebrations will take place at a farmhouse in Delhi over three days starting March 9, followed by a sangeet ceremony on the tenth and the wedding will happen on March 11. The finer details of the wedding are yet to be chalked out but the couple hope to have a grand celebration with a long guest list.

Reemma is also a known name in Bollywood films. The actor has already finished shooting for Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur, while Rahul Dholakia's film is yet to begin. Now that clearly indicates that the actor is not planning to quit films any time soon. Besides films in B-town, the sexy actor also has couple of movies lined up in the south, so much so that she may not be able to take a proper break before or after the wedding. Nonetheless, we wish the actor the best and hope the couple lives 'happily ever after'.

Housefull 2: Video leak or publicity stunt?

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 03:08 AM PST

When part of a new film is available for viewing before the makers are ready, it causes a certain amount of disturbance in the team that is responsible for the release. Something like this has happened with Sajid Khan's newest, Housefull 2. Amidst all the commotion about a song being leaked to the media, over the Internet and elsewise, the one person who's trying his best to bring some calming levity into this situation is actor Riteish Deshmukh. While producer Sajid Nadiadwala has left no stone unturned to express his disapproval over the leak, Riteish has conducted a poll on the micro-blogging site Twitter asking people who they think is a better dancer – Sajid Khan or Sajid Nadiadwala. Wethinks it's the veterans who are rocking the dance floor – shaking a leg or six with a great amount of enthusiasm are Mithun Chakraborty, Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor, who are seen grooving to Farah Khan's choreography and flaunting their signature dance moves. Sajid Khan did an impromptu jig in true Mithun-da style, while Nadiadwala, who's not known for his dancing prowess, had crew members in hysterical giggles with his funny moves. The set was brimming with fun and banter. John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, Shreyas Talpade and Riteish Deshmukh shimmied around in colourful tuxedos and geeky glasses.

The question remains whether the video has been uploaded into cyberspace by some prankster or if the makers came up with this brilliant idea of creating much-needed hype for the movie. Whatever the story is, we must say the sneak peek into the Housefull 2 house was quite enjoyable! Don't you agree?

Why Hrithik Roshan snubbed Priyanka Chopra!

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 01:21 AM PST

When Hrithik Roshan threw a party to celebrate the success of his blockbuster Agneepath on Saturday night, he was forced to leave out Priyanka Chopra, who was an important member of the cast. Reason: Gauri Khan.

Gauri has been extremely uncomfortable about the gossip regarding hubby Shahrukh Khan's closeness to Piggy Chops. She has been discussing this with her close friends- Sussanne Roshan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey and Mehr Jesia – and they have been supporting her in the decision to leave Priyanka out of their social circle. They didn't even say a 'hello' to her at the bash thrown for Oprah Winfrey. Remember Priyanka left the venue very quickly that night? We hear that she was quite embarrassed by the cold treatment she got from Gauri and gang, and decided to make an early exit.

Gauri has made it clear that though she won't interfere in SRK's professional decisions, she won't tolerate Priyanka coming into her personal space. Things have become quite awkward between the two and partying with Chops is the last thing Gauri wants to do. Considering that Hrithik shares a great rapport with Priyanka and she is also working with him in his home production Krrish 2, it was a tough decision for the actor. Finally, he had to choose Gauri over Priyanka as he and his wife Sussanne consider her family. Poor Hrithik, caught in the middle of a cat fight, ha?

Is Vidya Balan getting married?

Posted: 02 Feb 2012 12:03 AM PST

Vidya Balan has recently developed a wicked knack of refusing movies. It all began with Ram Gopal Varma's Shaque – the role Vidya was offered in that was first refused by Sridevi and then by Shahana Goswami. That might have had more to do with Ramu's reputation than with any of Vidya's nakhras, no? Next, she turned down the role of a witch in Vishal Bhardwaj's Daayan. Here again, maybe she was just miffed with Vishal for leaving her out of the Ishqiya sequel, Dedh Ishqiya. Going by that logic, Ekta Kapoor should not be turned down, right? After all, she plays a pivotal role in Vidya's success by being the producer of The Dirty Picture. But guess what, Vidya has turned down the offer to act in Ekta's Shootout at Wadala too!

While we did hear something about Vidya not wanting to play second fiddle, we are beginning to get suspicious about the actor's intentions. Is it just Vidya's quest for meatier roles or something much more personal? We all know that actors riding high on success start refusing movies for a small handful of reasons. Primary among these are either marriage or an impending baby. While a baby is pretty unlikely for the actor right now, wethinks, we can't help but wonder about Vidya getting hitched to her admitted-beau, Siddharth Roy Kapur. After all, many of her contemporaries are busy getting their trousseau designed. So why should Vidya be left behind, right? Just a wild guess, we say. But guesses have a habit of coming true, no? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge….

Why did Bipasha Basu refuse to work with Emraan Hashmi?

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 10:46 PM PST

Though the prospect of kissing her male co-actor for a film gives Bipasha Basu nervous jitters, a possible lip-lock was not the reason why the gal refused to work with Emraan Hashmi some years ago. The dusky bombshell was skeptical of being paired with Emraan for Raaz 3 and if you ask her why, Bipasha doesn't mince words. "I did not refuse to work with Emraan. It is just that I couldn't work with him earlier. He was really young and I saw him when he was 18, as an assistant director on Raaz. When we were approached for a film, I looked way older than him because of my weight," said Bips in an interview with a daily. There are many leading ladies who are a bit hesitant to work with the Serial Kisser thanks to his his lip-locking reputation. Even Mallika Sherawat, who went on a kissing spree with Emraan in Murder, said recently that she would rather kiss a snake than smooch with Emraan again. But Bipasha claims she had her valid reasons and felt that Emraan would have looked juvenile had he been paired with her earlier.

So what has suddenly changed now for Bips to change her mind? Has Emraan suddenly grown a few inches taller? Has he started looking more mature, with his facial fuzz and bulked up muscles? Or has he become a hot draw at the BO, something that no actor with a need for a hit film will think of avoiding? "I also have to be convinced that I should look good with whoever I am paired up with on-screen. Today I look younger than I looked then," said the babe, showcasing her seemingly reversed age cycle instead of complementing her Raaz 3 co-star for his growing 'maturity'. Bipasha, we think, is not only getting younger with every passing birthday, but also getting brainy as she grows up. Agreed, Bipasha fans?

Rishi Kapoor finds the rave reviews for his ‘Agneepath’ performance ironic

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 09:11 PM PST

Watching Agneepath was worth the money, mainly because of two people's powerful performances – Hrithik Roshan's serious and silent version of the angry man, Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and Rishi Kapoor's menacing Rauf Lala act. This wasn't the first time the favourite lover boy of the 70s and 80s played a villain though. A few years ago, in Vashu Bhagnani's film Kal Kisne Dekha, Kapoor played a baddie but it wasn't well received by the audience. So when Rishi Kapoor read and heard that people can't stop gushing over his villainous role in Agneepath, he is a bit upset. At the press meet to celebrate the success of the film, he jokingly said, "I have been working for 40 years, but on one never said anything (about his acting skills). But today I turned a pimp and everyone thinks I did a fabulous job!"

Yes, it's true that during his reigning times his success was overshadowed by Amitabh Bachchan's angry man acts, but lately he has been sweeping awards at last. In the recent past, Rishi won awards for the role of a stereotypical Bollywood producer in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance and the middle class father's role in Habib Faisal's Do Dooni Chaar. We are sure that RK will win another trophy for being Rauf Lala too. By the way, chinwag is that though Kapoor's villainous act is widely-appreciated, he isn't keen to repeat it. We agree with you Chintuji. We would love to you in a different avatar in yet another interesting role. What's the point of getting stuck doing the same kind of roles, right?

Ritu Kumar reveals Genelia D’Souza’s wedding outfit

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 07:39 PM PST

Ritu Kumar, who is well-known for her exquisitely designed Indian wear, has put together the wedding outfits for Genelia D'Souza. The designer opted for elegant styles for the bride who will tie the knot with long-time boyfriend Riteish Deshmukh on February 3. "Genelia is such a young and petite girl that it was fun to make the wedding trousseau for her. I avoided bling and shimmer because I didn't want clothes to overshadow her personality. Hence the silhouette which I designed for her is simple yet elegant and chic," says Kumar and continues, "I have chosen colours that will enhance her vivacious personality. She can carry off the traditional Indian look beautifully. The Anarkali and lehenga designed will complement Genelia."

For her mehendi ceremony, the 24-year-old bride will wear a nude and black net Anarkali kameez with panelled layers, teamed with a black-and-nude-coloured dupatta and a nude-coloured churidar. And for the wedding day Kumar has designed a lehenga choli inspired from a 19th century archival piece. It's a gold-and-indigo blue-coloured ensemble; the blouse is made of indigo blue velvet with antique dhapka embroidery and the lehenga has gold weaving with zardosi embroidery. We are sure the lovely designs will make Genelia look her best on her special day!
